The ticket is recorded the second the maid’s pen hits the paper, so make sure to get there before that happens.

Follow an Ambulance Through Traffic

“I stop and look at traffic accidents. I won’t hang around, but when I hear something is terrible, as bad as it is, I’ve gotta look at it.”

—Norman Lear, TV producer

Drive at night one time, and you’ll notice something strange. The commute is a little smoother and quicker. There aren’t as many cars on the road. You’re not cursing out the window or at yourself as much. Traffic, it seems, doesn’t exist.

It’s a lovely sight in contrast to your rush hour commute, when it takes an hour to move a mile.

But there are certain cars that are granted the privilege to pass through traffic whenever they want. They’re called ambulances, and all they have to do is turn on their signal and cars get out of their way, no matter how crowded the streets are. It’s high time you take advantage of this and just follow the ambulance through traffic. Nobody is going to be later because of it, and the cars behind you will have one less car to worry about since you’ll be zooming up ahead of the pack.

It might get you some honks and dirty looks, but at least you’ll get home in time to watch the NCIS marathon.
